About Me

My name is Peter (I prefer Pete) Hayward.

I am married to a wonderful lady, Pam. We live in the delightful little suburb of Glenside in Adelaide, South Australia.

Somethings, it seems, are meant to be. And heck I am ever lucky!!!

We live in what must be one of the best locations around with terrific neighbours and the very best of friends. A top spot within a stones throw of the Adelaide city centre.

The names "Ngarkat" and "Boxflat" are taken from a little known conservation park that borders what was my family's farm south of Lameroo in the Mallee country of South Australia.

I'm a fan of Nikon cameras. It turns out that once one starts with a brand of camera it's very hard to change brands due to the significant investment in lenses and also in learning the control layout and idiosyncrasies of the brand. I have no religious favour of Nikon. Each camera manufacturer make sensational cameras these days. It's just chance really. In my early 'career' in photography my first 'real' camera was a Pentax MX 35mm. I really loved that little camera. From there my life of destitution and want really kicked in. I won't dwell on my penchant for motorcycles, off road of course. They also kept me broke and the Orthopedic Surgeon in the latest model Audi.

When I lived in country SA (Lameroo) I started a significant part time business, particularly in Wedding, Event and even aerial photography. Earlier images on this site have been taken with a Nikon 5700, D200, D600, D610 and later a D750, D500, D810. I've been playing with a 1 Series J3 & V2 however the workhorse cameras are currently a toss up between my D500, D750 and D810. I'm longing for a new mirrorless camera (I do have a the V2 which is sensational for its time, really really good, long story ) however now I'm waiting for Nikon to come out with a mirrorless that is affordable and appeals to me (the new ones don't hit the mark for me). I can dream can't I :) To view my complete profile (including my email address, not shown here to help foil spam bots) click this link:
